Updated on October 28th, 2023: The link to Al Jazeera’s Wikipedia page has been updated to an archived version of the page, since the currently-available page has been editied to remove references to Qatar’s controlling ownership, possibly to legitimize the antisemitic content it produces. Changes to the Wikipedia page are consistent with other Western and international media outlets which display bias against Jews in their coverage.
From now on, we will include only archived links to webpages that are controlled by organizations which have demonstrated antisemitism or bias.
The tragic deaths of 500 innocent Palestinians in the bombing of a hospital in the Gaza Strip has, at last, been conclusively attributed to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an auxiliary terror organization operating out of the Strip.
Yet the Instagram story for UCF’s Palestinian Student Association continues to blame Israel for the misfire, turning what was an uncertain claim into a definitive blood libel.
As of 10:50 AM on October 18th, 2023, UCF PSA’s Instagram story continues to share a post from the @adalahjusticeproject account which repeats the statement “Israel bombed a hospital” 10 times. It is unclear if the managers of the account believe that repeating a lie 10 times is enough to make it true.
Before conclusive evidence of PIJ’s culpability was provided, claiming that Israel bombed the hospital represented an irresponsible jump to conclusions, since the claim came from a Hamas-controlled entity. Trusting a terrorist organization to report correct and accurate information is, at best, poor judgement. Now that the claim has been entirely refuted, including with video evidence from multiple sources, including (unintentionally) from the Qatar state-controlled media outlet Al Jazeera, the claim represents a malicious defamation of Israel and the Jewish people. It was not clear at the time of writing if UCF PSA or the @adalahjusticeproject believed the video evidence, including footage provided by Al Jazeera, was fabricated or otherwise insufficient to prove PIJ’s culpability.
Past incidents related to PSA, including implicit calls for Jews to be killed make it unlikely the PSA will recant their fabricated claims.
